DENYSHA
Certified Pilates & GYROTONIC® Instructor
Denysha is a Comprehensively certified Pilates & Gyrotonic® Instructor here at MMC! She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and holds an B.B.A in Accounting from the University of Houston. Back in 2021, she underwent back surgery for a herniated disk. After the surgery she suffered depression and severe anxiety because she did not think she could move around like she once did pre-surgery. Before her injury she had a heavy athletic background that involved strength training, boxing and belonging to a running group called Black Girls Run.
While still named Cooper Craig Ranch, Denysha was introduced to Emily and tried a pilates intro but decided that day it wasn’t for her because she was always chasing the biggest calorie burn. Little did she know she just had not made the connection in her body yet. It was not until finding Mckinney Movement Center that she fell in love with the pilates practice. She utilized pilates and yin yoga to aid in her recovery from surgery. McKinney Movement Center philosophy and welcoming environment increased her passion for pilates, her desire to learn more about the human body and the injuries that hinder the bodies of everyday people.
It was not long before she decided she had to be a part of this beautiful movement and seek her full comprehensive certification here at MMC. Shortly after she decided to also complete her full Gyrotonic® Certification. If you have not seen her around already, which is almost impossible because she is in the studio just about everyday, you will see her friendly face around soon enough so make sure to say hello. She believes that Pilates is for everybody and with the right community and tons of consistency you too will experience the freedom it can bring to your mind and body. While not at the studio Denysha currently works full-time as a Sr. Treasury Analyst for an auto repair company. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves good music, dogs, babies and a great tv drama.

SAMANTHA
Certified Pilates Instructor, NPCT
BA, California State University Northridge
Samantha, a native of Los Angeles, California, has always been a passionate movie lover. From subtitled French films to indie art house productions, she enjoys watching, analyzing, and discussing cinema in all its forms. Her deep love for film naturally led her to pursue a degree in Film Theory and Criticism—an ideal way to turn her obsession into a formal education. She began her professional career in the television industry, working in rights and clearances—ensuring that everything appearing on screen had the proper legal permissions. While working freelance in the television industry, she met her husband, a television editor.
Movement has always played a central role in Samantha’s life. Her early interest in yoga led her to complete 200 hours of teacher training, and while still working full-time in television, she taught classes at gyms across the Los Angeles area during evenings and weekends.
After having her first of four children, Samantha found herself reconnecting with movement by going to the gym. With music blasting in her headphones, she found strength and peace in lifting weights and running. Between raising her children, she completed three half-marathons and two full marathons. By her late 40s, fatigue and knee strain led her to scale back on high-impact training and take up hiking in the scenic foothills of Southern California.
A major shift came after relocating to Dallas. There, Samantha discovered Pilates—a practice that perfectly combined her love of movement with mindfulness and graceful strength. In 2022, she enrolled in the Comprehensive Pilates Training Program at Re:Gen Pilates under the guidance of Jen Whitley, earning her certification in 2023. Since then, she has been teaching both private sessions and group classes. Samantha is deeply fulfilled by her work as a Pilates instructor. She values how it strengthens the mind-body connection, enhances athletic performance, and supports long-term wellness.
Now living in Prosper, Texas, Samantha balances her professional life with being a devoted wife and mother. She cheers on her son at baseball games, stays closely connected with her three adult daughters attending BYU Provo, and even enjoys the challenge of teaching her husband Pilates. In her free time, you’ll find her lifting weights at thegym, walking, shopping, or—true to her roots—curled up in bed with her homemade popcorn, watching a period drama or the latest indie film.

I encourage everyone to give it a try.”
A back injury turned this once runner and heavy cardio/strength enthusiast into a convert of purposeful low-impact movements. She is passionate about helping others cultivate body awareness, functional strength, and confidence that carries beyond the studio and into everyday life. She is excited to continue growing with the MMC community and supporting clients on their movement journey.

"I’ve taken Pilates classes at a number of studios (SolidCore, Session, etc.), but Mckinney Movement Center is easily the best. At other studios, I didn’t get the feedback and instruction that I was looking for. The instructors at McKinney Movement Center put together really diverse sessions, whereas at other studios I felt like I was doing the same exercises over and over again. They also know their clients - what their goals are, pain points are, etc. - and put together sessions that are thoughtful of each person in the class. I also love the variety of equipment that we use (chair, rings, box, hand weights, etc.). This variety is far more than I’ve experienced at other studios and introduces new challenges and complexity to each workout. I also love the community I’ve built at McKinney Movement Center. The owner makes it a point to talk to everyone, the instructors get to know me as a person, and I’ve made genuine friends in class. If you’re up for a challenge - take Jaclyn’s Power class. You won’t regret it!! "

Phil : " I'm an avid golfer and I love the mobility and balance work I get from Pilates. It has helped my golf game quite a bit and we really like our Instructor, Jaclyn, as she does a very good job of customizing the exercises to our specific needs. My posture has gotten much better since doing Pilates also, and I love the ability to come in each session and do something new. We are never doing the same thing twice, always learning something new and building on it. "
Shannon :
"I started Pilates because I had a lot of back problems and ended up having a back surgery. I wasn't motivated to come at first and Phil encouraged me to go by saying he'd go with me. So we started out with Duet sessions once a week and fell in love with it! Now we do group classes and our duets. The extreme knowledge that the Instructors have here at MMC is so amazing. They can look at our bodies and see when certain muscles are firing or aren't and help us figure out what we need to do to work on that and build more connection. I can't believe how strong my core is at my age and NOW I can really chase the grandkids and lift them! "

" I have been doing Pilates for better than 6 years, both Mat and Equipment Pilates. I fell in love with the equipment classes because of the way it makes me feel and move - the resistance training, the stretching... and you can do so much on it! It's amazing what the Instructors come up with and I really love the challenge and that's why I keep coming to MMC. Every time I come to class there is always a difference between the class before it, it's never the same. The instructors here really make a difference because they care, the attention to detail is there like no where else I have trained. One of their first questions when you walk in the door is, "is everything ok with you today?"
and I really love that and the individual attention. I don't want to be injured, so I really love the one on one attention even in the group classes. At MMC it's not about the numbers. As I'm aging, I am focusing more and more on balance, building my bone density, and obtaining better posture all of which my classes at MMC help me with! "

"I started taking sessions at MMC a year and a half ago because my friend's daughter trained with Emily as a pre-professional dancer. I take Pilates equipment classes 3 times a week. I tried a Private Session with Emily and fell in LOVE with the Gyrotonic® Method. I enjoy playing badminton and dancing (Ballet and Traditional Chinese Dance) on a regular basis and I feel like the sessions all help me so much, especially the Gyrotonic because it helps me with strengthening my core. My body feels so much more balanced and I can tell that it has helped me to build up my muscles in my legs too! I really like MMC Pilates classes because they help me make sure to use the proper muscles and form - it is Traditional Pilates, not the sport kind, so you will feel real change and adjustments and results. My back and neck always feel so much better after my sessions!"
